Living with a host family with half or full board

Living with a Spanish family is one of the best ways to get to know Spain, including its culture and its people. It will also allow you to practice the Spanish language in a natural way.

The families are selected and visited regularly. In all of them, you will find a warm atmosphere that will help you get integrated into the family and city life very quickly.

 

Host family accommodation description

1. Avaiable all year round.
2. Minimum stay 2 weeks.
3. Single room. If you are two people and you want to share the room, please contact us specifiying if you want twin or doble room.
4. Possibility of accommodation half board or full board.
5. Arrival on Sunday before the Spanish course starting date and departure on Saturday after the Spanish course last day. Please, contact us if you want to arrive earlier or to rest more days.
6. The family provides the bed linen, but you must bring your own towels.
7. It is necessary to leave a deposit of 150 € at Spanish school office to cover any damage done during the stay. At the end of the stay, the family inform the school if there was damage, which will be deducted from the deposit.
8. The majority of the host families live in the centre of Alicante, near the Zador school. The maximum distance from home to school is 40 minutes walk or 10-15 minutes by bus although the average distance is 10 minutes walk.
9. You can use the washing machine once a week. If you wish to use it more often, you have to agree with the family and pay an extra fee. Dry cleaning service is not included. Please, bear in mind this when preparing the luggage. Before using electrical appliances, please consult with the family.
10. As in any family around the world, there are also a series of rules you must follow: be punctual to meal hours, let the host know if you are not having lunch or dinner at home, phone when arriving late at night...
11. Please have in mind that being part of the host family program will demand from you adaptation to other life habits such as family rules and daily diet. You can find meat, chicken, pork or fish on the daily meals prepared by the host family and the family will not necessary adapt to special wishes. Students with special dietary requirements should make a note in the enrolment and depending on the needs it could be an extra cost.

Host family accommodation in Alicante

The city of Alicante runs lengthwise along the coast, gradually moving inland, with neighbourhoods such as San Blas and San Blas Alto or the Altozano quarter to the West; the Benalúa or Babel quarters to the South, or the San Antón and Carolinas quarters to the North, among others. Thus, the city forms a kind of semicircle facing the sea.

The majority of the host families are near the Spanish schoo, in Alicante city centrel, around 10 minutes walking. If you do not like walking, all the quarters of the city are connected to the center by urban buses or the tram running every 10-15 minutes.

High season and low season in Alicante

As you already know, all the cities and villages of the Spanish Mediterranean coast receive visitors from many different Spanish and European cities, especially during the festivities and the summer.

That is why the host family accommodation prices change depending on the season in which you come. There may be different prices for High or Low Season.

In general, the High Season includes the months of June, July, August and September, in addition to the Easter and Carnival holidays.
