All year round Alicante offers you an extensive cultural programme. You can choose among a variety of concerts, conferences, theatrical productions or a medieval market at the end of June. There is also a summer festival on the forecourt of the harbour with its theatre plays and concerts. Do not forget the nights of the Castle, the International Festival of Contemporary Music or the International Puppets Festival. At the end of June, the eve of San Juan, or Saint John, traditional bonfires are lit all over the city and the streets filled with music, celebration and fireworks. Huge papier-mâché monuments are consumed by the flames during the purifying rituals of this magical night.

We suggest that you learn to dance salsa —one of the most typical dances of Latin America— or FLAMENCO —the most expressive and most famous Spanish dance in the world.

Salsa course: 5 hours of salsa classes a week with professional dance teachers with awards in Spain and international salsa competitions.

Flamenco lessons: 5 flamenco lessons per week with professional flamenco teachers. Flamenco courses are designed for people of all ages who want to learn the dance choreography, technique and movements of hands and feet. Flamenco classes with a teacher who has been teaching for more than 25 years: Her passion for the dance illuminates all students.

In addition to the Spanish and salsa or flamenco lessons, we offer two cultural visits per week to Alicante Castle, the Cathedral of Santa Maria, museums, archaeological sites, and a lunch or tapas dinner with a Spanish teacher.

Excursions: Valencia and the city of Arts, Elche with the largest palm forest in Europe, Guadalest, Gata de Gorgos... The town of Orihuela, the Canelobre Caves, the Route of the Castles with amazing fortresses, such as the Atalaya (watchtower) in Villena, a visit to the city of Murcia and its impressive cathedral, Altea or Calpe... are some of the places awaiting your visit.

Taste typical Mediterranean cuisine: Fish and seafood from the bay, with vegetables and fruits from the orchards, accompanied by the inland wines, make up the main part of a healthy and natural cuisine, whose basic ingredient is the rice. All these flavours of sea and land are mixed together in the delicious rice “a la alicantina”, the black rice or ... you can try more than 100 types of paella.
